    Rat Burger
    By David Walliams

Rat Burger is a great book full of comedy and as soon as you turn the first page you do not want to put it down.

The story is about a lonely little girl called Zoe who lives with her Dad who seems lost after the death of her mother and also her vile step mum.

It is a tragic story about Zoe who has her pet rat stollen and then discovering that the burger man had stollen it to use as rat meat for his burgers. Zoe and her dad go in search of her rat to rescue him from his doom.

The humour of this book never repeats itself and you can not resist the temptation of laughing.

I especially liked the ending when Zoe’s step mum and the burger man are turned in to burger meat.

Zoe’s step mum never failed to make me laugh with her overwhelming behaviour which makes her my favourite character, although I would never act like her because I believe I am conscientious and kind we are similar because I also occasionally enjoy to have a lazy day but nowhere near as often as she does.

I was surprised to find out that the burger man would ever use rats in burgers to sell them to unknowing school children.

I would recommend this book to my teacher to read to the class as I am sure they would enjoy it as I have.

    Georges Marvellous Medicine
    by Roald Dahl

This book is so amazing that when you open the first page you would not want to leave it.

Its about a young boy who is known as George, who gets bossed about by his Grandma (who is horrible.) Every day when his parents have left, to do there job, Gran does what she is best at doing sitting down and telling George to get cups of tea.

But one day George has a brilliant idea. he was going to make some brand new medicine for Gran (because George has to give Gran medicine at 12:00am everyday.)

He gets lots of things from ALL of the rooms in the house…

For example, brown paint, animal pills, shampoo and loads more.

When Gran drinks the medicine her mouth…
GOES ON FIRE, SHE BLOWS UP AND GROWS AND GROWS AND GROWS….

If you want to find what happens next, go to the library and borrow the exciting book off them (I really recommended this book to all of you

While going to his bedroom he storms out of the kitchen, the trips up on a cracked egg timer while avoiding the dishwasher door. He then has dreams about choosing parents and spends time with four diffrent sets and he has to choose a set before he gets to 10 years old.In his dream there is always a set of parents who are always there watching him but he doesnt recognise them. He then realises they are his real parents watching him with love and looking out for him. He gets woken up by Dr Evans. The difference between me and barry was i appreinciate my parents.Parents love and care for you even if you dont see it sometimes. I am like barry as we both like football and Lionel Messi. It is a book where you dont know what is real or a dream.

    Spiderman an origin story
    By Marvel

It is about how Spiderman becomes Spiderman and the phrase in the book that taught him how to be Spiderman was With great powers comes great responsibility!
This means that if you have great power you are the one who is responsible for it you should not just use it for slacking about or just using it like its natural. You should use it to help people and the innocent ones.
I think maybe 8 to 9 year olds will like this because some little kids may not understand it that much.

I like this book because all the pictures are hand made, and good deetayals in it. I think we do have a simarality because we do the right thing. My favrout character is spider man him self . And spider

    NAUGHTIEST GIRL IS A MONITOR

Elizabeth Allen is the main character in this story. She is a monitor at her school and one of her friends keeps making fun of her because she is proud to be a monitor. One day she starts getting really angry and starts to play different pranks on people. Elizabeth consequently looses her job as a monitor.

My favourite character is Elizabeth because she is always playing pranks on other people and they are really funny to read about.

A monitor means that they are in charge of their form and anyone who has any problems comes to them and the monitors sort it out.

She is wonderful at writing, amazing at art, marvelous at maths and great at geography!

One of Elizabeth’s friends lets her down by stealing some of her private property. She suspects lots of people and reports them at the meetings, even though it wasn’t them. Eventually Elizabeth finds out who the thief is and is very disappointed in them.

I would give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 because it is really funny and a brilliant book. I would recommend it to people between the ages of 8 and 11 who like adventure books with lots of humour. I would recommend it to this age group because there is quite a lot to take in and understand.

It is a great book to read at any place: at home, park, school and any family members house.

It is a diary entry written by the main character Gregg Heffely. He lives with his mum, dad, little brother,Manny and his big brother Rodrick. He also has a best friend called Rowley Jefferson.

Gregg’s personality: He is friendly, kind and a caring boy, who loves to have fun with his best friend. When he is with his older brother he gets into trouble. When he is with his little brother he gets into trouble again because if his little brother brakes some think he blames it on Gregg so it is a very hard life for Gregg but he has learnt to live with it.

    charlottes web
    by E.B. White

Charlotte’s web is the magical tale of Fern ,a little girl who saves her pig, Wilbur, with the help of a most unusual spider. Fern is a little girl who lives on a farm with her mum, dad and older brother Avery. one day all the piglets had been sold at the farm, all except one who was about to chopped up by Ferns father , but as soon as fern saw her dad with the axe and the piglet she had to stop him! So her mother and father decided that they would let her keep the baby pig , so Fern named the pig Wilbur. one day Wilbur got too fat and had to be sent away to a farm , luckily it was fern’s uncle’s farm so she could visit Wilbur any time. One day at the farm Wilbur made some friends a rat, a goose and a cow the rat was saying how Wilbur would soon be killed and turned into bacon! But later that night Wilbur met a spider, charlotte she helped him by writing on her webs words so Wilber would be found special and not to be killed.

My favourite character is Fern because she is loyal and courageous because she stood up to her dad for Wilbur.

I would recommend this to 7 to 11 year olds because they would find the funny parts funny and would get the story more unlike teens or receptions and under.

this story was great to read and others would love it too!

    Roald Dahl
    MATILDA

The story is about a girl who is not loved and cherished by her family. She plays lots of pranks on her Dad, it is very funny! She then discovers she can move stuff with her mind which then sets off a series of funny events. Later in the story she goes to a school with a terrible and I mean TERRIBLE head mistress. Although she does have a lovely teacher. I do not want to tell you about a special secret in the book but I can tell you, you will be surprised.

My favourite character is Miss Honey because she is very quiet and calm about everything. Even at the worst of times. She has a big part in the story and comes to a great surprise at the end.

I would recommend this book from year 2 and up because there is a lot of humour and adventure.

TITLE: NARNIA: THE LION,THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER? I really can’t decide between the two characters Lucy and Susan.Lucy has a vivid imagination and she seems to be able to see things that the others can’t see.I like Susan because she is brave ,fast and intelligent. She proves that girls can be just as tough, courageous and warrior-like as boys can! Also,Susan uses my absolute favorite weapon and first choice in sport (next to netball, that is) when they’re battling their enemies.

HOW IS THIS CHARACTER DIFFERENT/SIMILAR TO YOU? Susan and I are quite different:Susan is sensible, sly as a fox and always one step ahead when it comes to fighting, whereas I don’t bear the burden of keeping an entire kingdom well-fed,safe and under control so I’m less prepared for things and am also slightly less sensible sometimes.Lucy,on the other hand,is very much like me.We both enjoy meeting new people, making friends and exploring new places.I have a bubbly personality and love going on adventures, just like Lucy.

WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT THE PLOT? I was very surprised when Aslsan returned because even I believed he was dead.

WHO WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO? WHY? I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading mystical adventure stories because it is action-packed and full of magic, mystery and unanswered questions.I think it will really set people on the edge of their seats. If I had to rate this book out of ten stars I would give it 7.

Unfortunately I will never get the incredible opportunity to ever go to a place like Narnia but I know that I will still make the most of life and treat it as if it were as big an adventure as Narnia.

I liked the book because it was jam packed with adventure. At one point I couldn’t put it down,I just had to read on.It kept me intrigued right to the end.
    WHO WAS YOUR FAVOURITE CHARACTER?
My favourite character doesn’t really have a name but he is known by ‘The Grand High Witch'(the worst of the witches). I like him the most because he always looks onto the bright side of things although sometimes they might not seem so good…
HOW ARE THEY SIMILAR/DIFFERENT TO YOU?
SIMILAR:Like my favourite character, I would always choose good against the bad,by helping those who are weak or less able to do things that others can.
DIFFERENT: Dislike the boy, that is quite younger than me, I would think twice before doing things that I could risk my life for.
WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT THE PLOT?
Nothing really surprised me about the plot because, I suspected the ending before I had even read it.I also knew that bad things could happen to bad people, in this case the witches were turned into mice.

The puzzle of the missing panda: China (Jack Stalwart) by Elizabeth Singer Hunt

    What’s it about?

Jack Stalwart is a secret agent for the Global protection Force, and he has to rescue a missing panda in China before the evil Scorpion gang sell it.

What did I like about the book?
This book was full of suspense and it made you want to read on. I liked that Jack had plenty of technical gadgets in his bag and always had the right one when needed. He was similar to the James Bond character in films. There were a few twists and turns in the story that I didn’t see coming. There was a bit of double-crossing going on too!

    Who was my favourite character?

Jack Stalwart, as he showed commitment and courage. In trying to save the panda, he risked his life for his country. Jack was 12 years old so a little older than me but I felt I could relate to him as a character. Jack is focused and serious and sees a task through right to the end, which is what I try to do. He is a bit of a joker too at times and I guess I can be like that too!

    What surprised me?

I was surprised that he was so resilient and evaded capture by his powerful, well established enemies.

Would I recommend it to others?

I would recommend this book to boys aged between 7 and 12 years old. This is because the main character is a boy who is 12, and comes across as a bit of an action hero with lots of high tech devices. I don’t think it’s a book for girls unless they are in to action heroes.

Interestingly granddad was involved in world war 1.His grandpa’s secret was that he never got to see his grandma for a very long time because she had died 15 years after the boy was born.

The boy was proud of his granddad since he was involved in word war 1.

    So what by Bel Mooney
This book is mainly about a girl named kitty and her life, the main characters family are…
-dad(he is a funny and caring person)
    -mum(busy but loving)
    -Daniel(kitty’s older brother)
    -baby tom(kitty’s younger brother).
I have given this a rating of *** out of ***** stars because it needed some corrections as part of it did not make sense. I would recommend this book to anyone as it is very funny.my favourite part of the book is chapter 3 “big bully “page “39” to “43”as it is all about sticking up for your friends. William is being bullied by Tim.Kitty then gives Tim a punishment for what he has done.In the book it mentions the words “so what”(that’s the name of the book) quite a lot. I would read some more of the Bel Mooney books.

This extremely intriguing book is all about a young girl called Charlie, who thinks the Victorians are boring however she soon discovers this isn’t true.

My favourite character is charlie : she is really creative also friendly. I am similar to her because I am creative with presentation, yet I am different to her as I think we the Victorians are interesting.

All boys also girls could read this page turning story and thoroughly enjoy it.

One thing which gave me a surprise was when Charlie’s mum was made redundant – there are so many wonderful twists in this story .

I hope some one will like to read this fantastic book.

The chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian by C.S Lewis

What did you like about the book?
What I liked about the book is that the characters are the same but the plot is almost completely different. What I also like is how much the characters have grown and developed throughout the book, for the children it has been a year but in Narnia it has been a couple hundred years so being 10 years and up it is hard for the children to rule but they step up and do it perfectly.

Who was your favourite character and why?
My favourite character was Edmund because he is the youngest son but I think he has developed more than peter or Susan. He starts of as what people think may be the baddy but soon he picks up his act and is ready to become king.

How are you similar/different to you?
Edmund is different to me because I have never had to compete with my own brother, Edmund is the youngest son so his older brother gets all the attention so he feels left out. I am similar to Edmund because I know how it feels to be put on the spot and have t do something you may not really want to do.

What surprise you about the plot?
What surprised me about the plot was when I found out that king Miraz had killed Caspian’s father.

Who would you recommend this too and why?
I would recommend this book to people who like a series to read also to people who love adventure and a bit of mystery.

    Title: Five Children And It
A wonderful book filled with adventure and excitement. The characters(Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane and the Lamb)find a mysterious creature in the gravel pit when their parents are away ,looking after grandma. Not knowing what lies in store for them when they play with his gift of wishes, from being as beautiful as the day to owning stolen jewels and diamonds. The creature’s wishes get the children into trouble and they start to wonder whether the creature’s actually on their side or not, because all of their wishes end up with them getting scolded by their loyal servant, Martha. Their adventures are worth sharing! I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy and adventure.
“But children will believe almost anything, and grown-ups know this. That is why they tell you that the earth is round like an orange, when you can see perfectly well that it is flat and lumpy; and why they say that the earth goes round the sun, when you can see for yourself any day that the sun gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night like a good sun as it is, and the earth knows its place, and lies as still as a mouse.” I like that passage because it shows the that the writer has humour. I hope if you read this book you will find it pleasant.

Who was your favourite character and why?

My favourite character was Charlotte because of her amazing ability to weave creative webs with words in.

How are they similar or different to you and why?

She is similar to me because we are both really creative but she is also different to me because she likes expressing it and I don’t really.

What surprised you about the plot and why?

What surprised me about the plot was that at the beginning when Fern was allowed to keep Wilber because her dad seemed like he had decided to kill Wilber but then he gives it to his daughter.

I would recommend it to anyone because it’s a fun and thrilling book which I really enjoyed.

Book Review of :The Bad Beginning
    Author : Lemony Snicket
    Illustrated by : Brett Helquist
The amount of chapters: Thirteen chapters
    The amount of pages:162 pages

My favourite book is “The Bad Beginning”.
I like this book because it intrigued me and it made me want to read more. It was interesting in addition, it was adventurous. Also, it makes you feel sorry for the children in this story.
There are 10 characters and more. Violet, Klaus, Sunny, Count Olaf, Mr. Poe and his two children, Mr. Baudelaire, Mrs. Baudelaire, Justice Strauss, Count Olaf’s theatre troupe.
This book is about a Baudelaire family. The Baudelaire parent are so rich, that the conquer a fortune, that someone is longing for. It tells an unhappy tale about three unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filed with misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when the youngsters are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. Just because of the first sadness of this book, their whole life is suffering. One might say they are magnets for misfortunate.
My favourite character is Sunny, the youngest of them all, because she does not have a big vocabulary but she still replies with what she knows. In one part of the story, Sunny gives her sister, Violet and her brother, Klaus an idea to try and work out Count Olaf’s plan that he has plotted, in order for him also have the Baudelaire fortune.
Sunny is similar to me because sometimes she offers ideas to Klaus and Violet in addition, sometimes I give ideas to help people as well.
Sunny is different to me because, she is a baby and I’m not, any more. Also, most of the time she does not speak English and I do.
The part that surprised was when Count Olaf actually wanted to marry Violet to get the Baudelaire fortune because Count Olaf is vey, very old whereas Violet is only a teenager.
I would recommend this book to my sisters’ because they have watched the film but have not read the book. Also, they will know how it is to be in a position like that in life.

Anne of Green Gables- book review

This novel is around 100 years old as it was first published in 1908 and Canada was the lucky country to first read it but it has since gained a world wide readership. Lucy Maud Montgomery is the author of Anne of Green Gables and came from Cavendish on Prince Edward Island. She wrote a series of the books which has provided everlasting joy as they were so incredible. Most of the books have been turned into animations, films and even been on stage.

This long but interesting story is all about the adventures of Anne Shirley and how she grew up from being a small talkative red haired orphan to being a proper lady. Anne was around 11 when she was adopted by Marilla and Mathew Cuthbert and to Anne it was a dream come true but when she arrived at the beautiful Green Gables it was a nightmare come true instead. She was told that she was not wanted but when Marilla discovered that Anne had never had a proper home just worked for a family to earn her keep and to stay she came to her senses and decided to keep her. On the other hand Mathew Cuthbert was being quietly stubborn and would not stop at anything to keep Anne until Marilla had made her mind up. The story does not stop there and when you begin you can’t stop anyway. The adventures of Anne and her endless speeches will entertain you for years to come and will entertain many new centuries of people. But if you are not willing to read this unbelievably fantastic book and not know how good it is then you are letting down people of the new centuries as they may never get to know it.

I especially like the huge amount of descriptions of Avonlea, where Anne Shirley lived ,and the beautiful surroundings of Prince Edward Island all through Anne’s eyes. The author can really intrigue, inspire and actually make every character as real as can be. After telling my parents all about the story and how amusing it was we all felt like getting on a plane to go Canada to experience the most wonderful sensation of being in the story’s setting. I am extremely picky about books and if it’s my favourite it must be good so read it. Although this book is very old and has lots of old-fashioned language it has some of the most funny speeches in the world that makes me laugh out loud. Anne Shirley’s a imagination is larger that her self and if you want to find out you have to read it because I’m not telling you.

My favourite character is Anne Shirley: she is larger than life and makes me feel wonderful. Her imagination can sometimes or a lot of the time over rule her which can lead her into the path way of trouble. For example ones she had the idea of running and then jumping onto the bed and had no consideration of what could be there. She landed up in big trouble as there was somebody under the bed. This may not seem like she has a good imagination but in her time it would have been very unladylike to do that. Also a time that made me laugh out loud was when Anne was called carrots by some boy in her class and she broke a slate over his head. Her temper can be quite unthoughtful sometimes and that can make there more to laugh about. Anne is loud, talkative, funny, thin, red headed, full of imagination, caring, understanding and so many more things.

Anne is different to me because we live in very different times however we both have an imagination but my imagination is not as big and never gets me in trouble. I am very different in one respect to Anne as we both look very different. Miss Shirley has red hair, she’s skinny, she has freckles and quite an extraordinary slim face. Also I can hold my temper in although I don’t usually have a temper but Anne can’t. For example, when every one in the large class was outside, a very popular girl walked a fence and Anne after seeing it developed a massive temper. Seeing that, she immediately boldly told her that she could walk on the top of a house which was about 9 meters. She started to walk ………….. and if you read the exiting book you will find out all the hidden secrets.

While reading the thrilling novel I was surprised that Anne had made Diana , her best friend, drunk after giving her the mistaken red current wine. Anne was supposed to give her cordial but it all got mixed up. I didn’t know how Diana Barry’s mum was going to react because she is quite religious and is quite firm and likes every one to behave properly. I also wondered how Diana was going to react as she was supposed to be her best friend and maybe thought that Anne made her drunk on purpose. In the end they reunite together and Mrs Barry, Diana’s mum, understands after Anne saying a dramatic sorry to her.

This spine tingling book has stood the test of time. I would recommend this book to everyone. However to read it by your self you should be 11 and above and prepared to enjoy the extremely old fashion language. If you are under 11 and you wish to know all the rest of Anne’s secrets ask someone at home to read aloud the novel as it is mainly speech. It would be hard for anyone younger to read the amazing book as it is long and can be quite repetitive too. Also some of words are quite hard to understand. Do not let this put you off as you will never forget Anne Shirley, her best friend Diana Barry, Gilbert Blythe, Marilla and Mathew, Mrs Rachel Lynd and lots more of the unforgettable characters.

      THE END

This story is called Captain Underpants and the attack of the talking toilets written by Dav Pilkey. He writes a whole series of Captain Underpants books. I would rate this story 10 out of 10 for someone that likes comedy book and still a 8 out of 10 if you don’t like comedy books.
This story is about two boys, Harold and George with a horrible Principle, Mr Krupp. If he hears a snap he turns into Captain Underpants, but if Captain Underpants gets water on his head he turns back into Mr Krupp. One day they wrote a comic book about talking toilets and copied it on a copier that brings things to life. Out came the talking toilets. One of the teachers snapped at the talking toilets, Mr Krupp heard! Out he rushed on the dressing as Captain Underpants. The toilets chased him. After a while Captain Underpants had defeated all of the talking toilets. George and Harold looked at their comic and realized the Turbo Toilet 2000. Then they looked up, and there it was. Harold had an idea. He would draw a hero with a plunger and copy it on the same copier that they copied their comic on. So they did. Just as they came back the Turbo Toilet 2000 ate Captain Underpants! Here came the hero. The Turbo Toilet 2000 was defeated by him and out came Mr Krupp? He must have got water on his head whilst inside the Turbo Toilet 2000. OH NO!

Author Holly and Kelly Willoughby. This book is all about three girls,Pippa Burrows, Maria and Molly Fitzfoster who go to a stage school called L’Etoile (L’Etoile is French for The Star).Maria and Molly are rich twins with dreams of super-stardom.Pippa shares the twins dreams but without the same wealth, she has to depend on a scholarship to attend the school. Despite their different backgrounds the girls become best friends. Unfortunately, the girls have an enemy called Lucinda who is hatching a shocking plan to steal the spotlight off the girls, will the girls find out before it’s too late? You will have to read the book to find out. Even though this book is not in our library currently I would truly recommend we buy this for our library. It is a fun story with lots of humour and the author twists the plot so you never know what is going to happen next. This book will suit yr3 to yr6 especially any budding musicians, singers or even actresses.

Say hello to the buffalo poems by MILES GIBSON and illustrated by CHRIS RIDELL…

WHAT DID I LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK?

What i liked about this book was that it was a poetry book and i love poetry so i decided to read it i randomly picked it out and then realised it was a poetry book!

    WHATS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER?

My favourite character of the book was the spider named Mr.Harris there was a girl named Geraldine who left Mr.Harris in a jug but then forgot he was in there and pored milk in it (how tragic) and so Geraldine blamed her mother who blamed it on the DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geraldine was really sorry about the accident but the flies were glad.

    WHAT DID I NOTICE?

I noticed that in some of the poems were words that didn’t rhyme but poems don’t always have to rhyme. i also noticed that when ever there was a child (or adult) the poem was funny or had a tragic accident in for example BUFFALO
    Say hello to the Buffalo
    Lord of the Indian plain
Bully boy of the Hindu Kush
    The beast that trampled Wayne

    The Buffalo was chewing cud
When Wayne climbed over the rail
Swaggered up to that noble ox
And shook him by by the tail

    The Buffalo has brawn enough
    But a very simple brain
When Wayne comes out of the hospital
    He won’t try that again

I would recommend this book to my sister (Izzy) because she loves poetry books so much and i recommend you all read it because it’s brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like it because always at the end someone gets eaten and or hurt and it’s very funny. My favourite character was the crocodile because he is creepy and ate six children for his lunch.
What mostly surprised me was the words rhyming again and again.
I would recommend this book to children who like funny things and have wild imaginations.

Book review for Awful Auntie, by David Walliams.

1.) I liked the book because it had lots of links in and description. You can guess why the book is called Awful Auntie…. Because the Auntie really is awful, she even locked her niece in the coal cellar which was pitch black and there was no way out ! ! !

2.)My favourite character was Soot , Soot was a ghost which Stella, a little girl , met in the coal cellar while she was trapped. He is called Soot because he used to be a chimney sweep, before he died of course, and one day he came down the chimney of a house and his boss just called him Soot. He didn’t know his name because he lived in a workhouse and didn’t know his parents.

3.)Soot is different to me because he was a poor and dirty chimney sweep, and I’m the complete opposite of that: I like to dance, I’m clean and I have enough money for a house, a bed and all that I need to keep me alive. He is similar to me because he is supportive and always has a smile on his face. He supported Stella throughout the story and was always comforting. I’m mostly happy and support all people around me with a smile.

4.) It surprised me when Aunt Alberta lied to Stella and put her in a coma. While she was sleeping in a coma Aunt Alberta fed her mice , slugs and lots of other disgusting creatures. YUCK!!! Once she even lied to Stella’s teacher by saying that she was still in a coma but actually she was outside the door and spying on her Aunt.

5.) I would recommend this book to children over the age of Eight that to read books with lots of twists, turns and links. If you read this book I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. The first paragraph will have you intrigued and you will find it difficult to put the book down.

    Girl Online
    By Zoe Sugg
    Her first Novel

Girl Online is about a girl called Penny who bloges her life, her feelings about friendship, boys, her mad family and the panic attacks shes been getting, which have nearly taken over her whole life. When she thought things could get worse she was wrong. Her Mum was invited to New york to help with the wedding she was planning. And thats where she met Noah, a guitar-strumming American which she falls in love with. Thats where I’ve gotten up to in to the book.

I liked the book because it didn’t give things away really quickly, and tells you later on through the book like links. I also like that theres different types of founts like when Penny had the accident, and in a different fount she talks about the accident she has and what started here panic attacks, and than carries on with the story.

    Penny was my favorite character.

Penny and I, are similar because we are both clumsy, for e.g we always trip over thing. We are also similar because we both embarrass ourselves. I am different to because we don’t have the same personality or the same brain, we go to different schools, and we look completely different to each other.

What surprised me about the plot is that Noah Keeps his secret away from Penny and i don’t get why he won’t just tell her or get someone else to do it for him. (i don’t know what the secret is , but i read the back of the book and it said that Noah had a secret.)

I would recommend this book to all children in year 4, 5, and 6 because its not just a book about girls it has boy parts in it aswell, and its a story about someones life which is really interesting. I wouldn’t recommend it to children in year 3, 2, 1, and reception because it has some rude/mean words in it (but its acceptable) and i know that children in year 4, 5, and 6 won’t be silly about it.

I don’t have a personal favourite because I like all the character’s equally. Alfie and I are different because I’ve never needed any treatment at the dentist and he’s needed loads. As she’s in New York she meets a boy at the planning of the wedding. She catches him singing and apparently he isn’t famous or in a relationship. But he has a secret to… one that could ruins Penny’s internet life on her blog!
I’ve really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this to girls aged 10/18+. I’ve chosen this age as people under 10 may not understand anxiety and what is happening however , with people who are above 10 they would get this book and would really enjoy it whatever the age.
My favourite character would be Penny. This is because I and many other people can relate to her. She is interesting and smart and seems inspiring to many girls. She is similar to me as I have fears as well, like everyone. Also Zoe Sugg who wrote it has anxiety so its basically about her but as a different character and who is younger.
The thing that surprised me was the whole story ! I didn’t think any of this would happen so I was surprised with every single sentence I read.

    Overall review – AMAZING !

HARRY POTTER SERIES – seven adventure books written by JK Rowling.
I like the Harry Potter books because each one of the books leads up to one moment, and that moment is when Harry Potter faces the ‘one who must not be named’, also known as Voldemort!
Warning, some of the books contain strong language, so check with your parents before reading them! (Ron is the main culprit)
Now let’s talk about the three main characters, Harry, Ron and Hermione .Harry is a risk taking character who had been taken in by his auntie and uncle after the death of his parents. So when he finds out he is a wizard and his parent’s didn’t die the way he had been told, he sets off on an adventure to the most famous wizarding school, HOGWARTS! .Ron is a funny character brought up by his parents, Mr and Mrs Wesley .He has four brothers (Bill, Charlie, Fred and George ) and one sister (Ginny) ! Finally Hermione she has been raised by a non-wizarding family, who wizards call ‘muggles’ .A rude name for a person like Hermione is ‘mudblood’ ! Despite this she is a smart and bright witch and a loyal friend.
I strongly recommend these books, they are well written, exciting and addictive. So if YOU like the sound of them go to the Victorian library as soon as you can!

The book i chose to review was the Anne Frank diary.
the Anne frank diary is about a 13 year old girl who was Jewish girl who went into hiding,in world war two, for
two years. It is a nonfiction diary. Anne and her family, and another family lived in the secret annex and in her fathers office building. They wore hiding from the Nazis and Adolf Hitler [the German ruler] who wore sending the Jews to concentration camps at the time. During the two years in hiding, they relived on help from the most trusting friends who brought them food/drink and supplies. They couldn’t have any contact with the outside world or leave the annex.
what i liked about Anne franks diary was that she shared her feelings and thoughts in a little diary that she treasured. It also shows how life was like back then during world war two.

I recommend this book for the Victorian library[k stage 2] because:It is relevant for children in k stage two growing up, and experiencing some of Anne franks feelings too. Also people can see how children was raised , and experienced all of that in world war two. It also links to year fives last terms topic.
Although it is a really sad story, it makes you think
how lucky you are and it is a important to know what happened back then.

    FAIR’S FAIR by Leon Garfield

Its a week before christmas and a young homeless boy called Jackson lives on the streets; he works in different places doing different jobs for his food. One day a big black dog came whilst Jackson was eating his pie, the dog looks hungry as well so Jackson shares his pie with the dog. Jackson noticed the dog had a house key on his collar and wonder which door would it unlock. Through the cold windy snowy night Jackson and the dog went to try and find which house this key would fit. It was a dark and gloomy house, they enter the door to find a table full of food and at the end of the table sitting there was a little girl named Lillipolly. She told Jackson all she knew about the house. That evening they fell asleep in big chairs, big enough for six people. In the morning there was breakfast on a table. After breakfast they started to clean the whole house, once they finished six mince pies appears on a tray. Lillipolly then saw six little children coming to the door for Christmas carols they felt sorry for them and gave them the hot mince pies. Two men came up to them and introduced themselves as Mr. Beecham Chamber and Mr. Chuter & Ede. Mr. Beecham Chamber explained this was his house and he felt very lonely so he wanted to find two kind, honest, patient, brave and generous children to share it with. Fairs Fair!
    They became one happy family.

I enjoyed the book because it shows there are generous people who tries to help people in need.

I would recommend this book to somebody who likes a bit of mystery and always likes a happy ending.

    My favourite character is Jackson
Because he never gave up, he worked hard so he could feed himself and when Growler the dog came he shared his pie. He is a honest, helpful and generous boy.

My favourite characters are Peri and Diesel because they are very brave and follow orders . They are different to me because they have space ships and guns that turn people into dust. They are similar to me because they live on planet Earth and they eat Earth food and they love learning about space stuff. The things that surprised

Five days into the trip the go to a place called Soak central they think the Beardos steal their stuff. But actually Greg finds it in the suitcase!
My favourite character is Rodrick because he’s always up to something with Greg and always has loud music on. There is a lot of differences between Greg and I. He likes playing video game I like playing them but not as often as he does. And I like sports he doesn’t, but we are all different. I would recommend it to a boy aged between 8 to 11. The Witches by Roald Dahl.
The Witches is a great book for anyone who likes scary books. It’s also quite funny and it has a great plot.
The book has several characters and these characters are: The Boy, The Grandmother and The Grand High Witch. My favourite character is The Grandmother because she is wise in what she does and she knows how to look out for a Witch. The Grand High Witch is probably the cleverest as she has a very clever plan.

The Witches is about a boy and his Grandmother staying in a hotel. The boy is staying with Grandmother because his parents died in a car crash. In the hotel there are Witches staying there as well. The Witches don’t like children and because of that, they are plotting something horrible for children. The boy and his grandmother try to stop the Witches. I would recommend this book to all of the libraries. I would give this book 5 stars because it is written very well and it has an unusual ending.

How to train your Dragon. By Cressida Cowell.

I have only read the first four chapters of this book so this is what has happened so far. This is only the first book out of eleven still ten to go after this one.
This story takes place on a Viking island called Berk in a very small village with a tribe which is called the Hooligan tribe. In the chapters so far the leading characters are two boys called Hiccup and Fishlegs they both are very adventurous. Also there are another two men called Gobber the Belch who trains the ten young boys to be brave Vikings! Stoick the Vast who is the chief of the Hooligan tribe. Their mission is to make peace with dragons. This is going to be extremely hard for them to complete because dragons are the hardest beasts to train.

One of my favourite parts so far is where they pinch baby dragons from a cave at the top of the island this is all part of their training to be a brave Vikings. It was difficult because they had to avoid making a single sound otherwise the dragons will wake up and that’s not good at all because they will come and eat you up!
I like this book because I’m a person who likes to go on adventures and finding new places! I would like to see the pictures in colour not black and white. I would recommend this book to people who like adventures and are massive fans of dragons!

The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Author C.S.Lewis

Who was your favourite character? How are they similar/different to you?

My favourite character is Aslan the lion because he is a well liked and mysterious character also I would like to know more about him. Aslan is different to me because he is a free beast and no one can tell him what to do. He is similar to me because Aslan tries to help people when they are ineed.

What I liked about the book?

One of the things I liked about this book is that Narnia and England have different time zones. You learn this after Lucy travels to Narnia through the wardrobe for the first time and she spends hours there. But when she returns to England barely if not any time has passed.

What surprised you about the plot?

A thing that surprised me that was was Aslan was a lot better than I had anticipated because I thought he would just be a highly respected beast. I was wrong. The author described Alsan like a god-like being just to be in his presence was the highest of honour anyone could receive. The description of Aslan was amazing it made him seem he was flawless.

    Characters.

Some of the characters are Lucy, Edmond, Susan, Peter, Aslan, Mr Beaver, Mrs Beaver and the White Witch. Lucy, Edmond, Susan and Peter are all brothers and sisters. Mr and Mrs Beaver helped the children meet Aslan and told them the dangers of the White Witch. The White Witch is a foul creature who calls herself the Queen of Narnia. Aslan is the king of Narnia and a lion. Alsan is a powerful and majestic beast.

Who would you recommend the book to?

I would recommend the book to people who enjoy fantasy books and have an imagination because you have to imagine what the author writes in the to book to get the full effects of the story.

The firework makers Daughter Philip Pullman.

This Book is extremely interesting and in every part it keeps making you want to read on!This starts with an ordinary girl called Lila and her father called Louchand.
Louchand was a firework maker,Lila sat in a little cradle and watched sparks whizz and sparks crakle. As she started to grow up Louchand started to teach her.One day she was making a firework and asked louchand Can I try using these two? Louchand said why don’t you try yourself. Then Lila asked how did you become a firework maker?Louchand replied I had to retrieve the Royal Solfa i had go to mountmerapi.Lila asked can I go to mount merapi?louchand said No to dangerous!so Lila when to see hamlet (a talking elephant) who was at the palace he was looked after if anyone had misbehaved? After all their money was vanquished the elephant should be returned one of his carers was with him,Lila sorrowly said when my father told me about the Royal Solfa and mount merapi.I wanted to become a true firework maker but my father won’t let me.She asked the carer of hamlet to go and talk to Louchand.Louchand showed him where mount merapi was. Then he showed Lila and she left and he tried to stop her but it was worthless.Lila head set off on a unexpected journey…

When Louchand discovered Lila was missing, she asked the carer of hamlet where she had gone. The man exclaimed she ran off on a journey I tried to stop her but I couldn’t.
We must set of at once Louchand demanded. And so they did…By now Lila had reached a river. She saw a boat it didn’t have a nice name but she shouted excuse me but could you give me a ride across the river. The captain (called Rambashi) replied of course so Lila climed aboard the boat started to move across the river. She could hear people arguing below whilst they were rowing.Lila moaned what is it.Then the captain came up to Lila .They were pirates. They had arrived ashore, very hungery.Suddenly like a bullet from a gun a tiger pounced out roaring and growling. Lila immediately remembered that she had fireworks with her.She unpacked one and set it off blazing fortunately the tiger was scared away and even more she wasn’t torched by the pirates. She was invited to eat with them but she refused due that she had a quest. So Lila set of again.By now Hamlet and his carer Tulac were far they saw Uncle Rambashi cooking in his restaurant. They were offered free food but there was a bigger priority so they set off anxiously to find Lila…

Lila had reached mount Merapi the rocks were tumbling down. As she started the voyage she began to sweat and heat up as her speed increased finaly she reached the foot of the hill. She started to climb up with burning blazing hands
as rocks tumbled down the mountain like they were invincible. She at last reached the top and looked in the fiery infurnace unaware she needed magical water…
By now Tulac and Hamlet had reached a village,as they approached the river a goddess appeared and gave people one wish.Tulac asked for magic water. The goddess replied
your wish is my command. So they set off like the wind as suddenly Louchand arrived and was arrested because he was
not invited.Lila now was inside the mountain with flames flickering and dancing around.Suddenly a fiery spirit appeared. My name is the fire fiend he boomed and there is no such thing as the Royal Solfa.Lila was so stressed. Unexpectedly Tulac arrived with the magic water and she drank it so quickly like water going down drain the drain. Lila drank the water and was gifted with a ability to be immune to fire.Like the wind they disappeared.

Lila he shouted your father has been arrested so they swiftly went to city.Louchand had been released and would stay like that if he won the firework show.As it came to that they had won it and Louchand was released from prison and as a special treat Rambashi and his crew did a dance.

    The End

I extremely enjoyed this book and I recommend it to readers who like adventure story.

    Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney

I think Hard Luck is extremely funny because of the situations that Greg and his family get into.

Greg Heffley has had some trouble lately. His best friend, Rowley, has a girlfriend! That can’t be good for Greg. Rowley doesn’t take any notice of him now, not even for snowball fights. Even so, his family gatherings have been a disaster! At Greg’s Great Grandma’s funeral, his mum realised that the family diamond ring wasn’t there. Suddenly all the women were arguing and it was chaos!

I would rate Hard Luck 9 out of 10, because of how funny it is, although it sometimes goes over the top.

    THE END

This book is very good for kids. It has 300 questions. It also has lots of facts. This book is kind of a story but its real. You could ask your friends or family some questions in the book and see if they get it right.
